John F. Muller (1934-2007)

Born Detroit, Michigan, August 5, 1934; admitted to Bar in 1959, U.S. District Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan; 1980, U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. District Court, Northwestern District of Ohio.

Education: University of Detroit (Ph.B., 1954; J.D., 1958). Licensed Real Estate Broker, Michigan, 1972.

Member: State Bar of Michigan; Ohio State Bar Association; Commercial Law League of America. Also on the Board of Directors of the Creditor's Right Section of the Commercial Law League of America and on the Executive Committee for the Mid-West Region of the Commercial Law League of America. During 1996, he and his wife Lucy celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. John was active in sports and now directs his competitive attitude toward the practice of law and enjoyment of his family including his beautiful grandchildren! John practices Real Estate, Probate, Bankruptcy, and Collection law.

Roger C. Richmond

Born in Burbank, California, August 8, 1945; admitted to Bar, 1973, Michigan. Admitted to practice in United States District Court, December, 1983. Admitted to United States Supreme Court, April 4, 1988.

Education: Wayne State University (B.A., 1968; J.D. 1973). President, Wedgewood Commons Subdivision (Homeowners Association) 1979-1985.

Member: State Bar of Michigan; Commercial Law League of America. Commercial Collection and Secured Lending. Roger is an avid comic collector, his collection includes over 20,000 comics. He is also a Star Wars buff. His eldest son, Eric, recently obtained a B.S.E. in chemical engineering at the University of Michigan (Summa Cum Laude). Eric is now working in microelectronics at IBM in Burlington, VT. His other son, Scott is now starting his fourth year at MSU, preparing for a career in computers. His daughter, Stephanie, is a freshman and Michigan State and is planning to study veterinary medicine. He and his wife, Diana, recently celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Steven A. Harms

Born Detroit, Michigan, February 15, 1949; admitted to bar, 1975, Michigan.

Education: Hope College (B.A., 1970); Detroit College of Law (J.D. 1975).

Author: Various books and articles on collections including: "Handling the Collection Case in Michigan, A Creditor's Guide," (686 pages, updated Feb 2003, available at www.icle.org), Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Also, author of "A Credit Manager's Guide to Collection Law in Michigan" (282 pages, published March 2003, and available at: www.icle.org/creditmanagers).

Co-Author: "Michigan Collection Techniques and the Law," Professional Education Systems, Inc., 1985; "Michigan Business Form Book," Institute of Continuing Legal Education, 1990; "Michigan Basic Practice Handbook," Institute of Continuing Legal Education, 1991. Also, co-author of seminar materials for various organizations including National Business Institute. Recent materials include "Michigan FDCPA Update." June 2000. Authored chapter in "Attorney Fee Agreements in Michigan." ICLE, 1994.

Member: Commercial Law League of America. Licensed to practice law in Michigan and Ohio. John practices primarily in the area of collection law. He enjoys the outdoors and hunting.

Richard A. Muller

Richard Muller is and attorney who litigates in the areas of commercial collection law, consumer law, retail collection law, contract law, business law and real estate law.  He primarily advises and represents businesses and individuals who have issues related to collection law and contracts.  He secondarily advises and represents businesses and individuals who have issues related to real estate.

Richard graduated from Detroit Catholic Central, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Detroit, and his law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, (where he received Dean’s List and Honor Roll awards).  Richard spent a lot of his time at Thomas M. Cooley Law School working with the indigent and the Cooley Outdoors Club where he held the title of President for 3 years.  This allowed Richard to help those in need and to enjoy the many great outdoor experiences that the State of Michigan has to offer.

Richard is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Court.  Richard works hard and prides himself on developing long lasting, high quality client relationships.
