For information concerning Michigan Collections, you may wish to obtain the 600 plus page book, Handling the Collection case in Michigan (2003 edition available Feb 15, 2003, a book for lawyers in the collection practice ) and a Guide for credit managers and other non-lawyer credit executives, on collection law on a variety of issues from the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, to matters involving litigation, checks, phone conversations, international transactions, student loans, and more....a brochure will be available shortly. Both publications will be available on this site: www.icle.org.

Telephone seminars will take place throughout 2005 on dates to be announced on various topics of collections which should interest all collectors, both novice and experienced. Additional information will be posted here, and registration can be made by contacting www.commercialcollector.com (go to Calendar of Events) or e-mailing smitht@collector.com.

The first seminar will cover the progression of a law suit from the summons all the way through execution and garnishment (and other post judgment remedies), and it is currently set for January 22nd at 1pm Eastern Standard time. Each teleseminar is 90 minutes in length, and, you can have as many
people listen to it (and ask questions of the speaker, Steve Harms) as you please! The billing is per site, not per person.
